This site, along with Pompei, was on my bucket list of sites to visit, and it was impressive and did not disappoint in any way. My only regret was not allocating more time to both sites. In my opinion, one day each was not enough. I also recommend that you pack a lunch because there is no food service onsite, so you have to go out of the park to get food and there's not a lot to choose from in Ercolano.

DO NOT USE THE TRAIN horrendous experience the “express” train are only every 2 or 3 and you will not be let on without a ticket !!! A paper one !! The other trains let you use contactless card but not the so called superior express train Never seen such a terrible service Aweful , went back to Naples from pompeii o get another ticket for Ercalano got on the train !!!!!! And it went on a different line !! They told me what platform to go on , but obviously the wrong one You’d think being a World heritage site they’d sort out the public transport for visitors
